Increasing the visibility of Hertfordshire’s food network
What we noticed
Most people don’t know about the good things that are already happening – community gardens, kitchens and pantries, farm shops, markets, veg box schemes, composting hubs, and lots more. A single place to discover these initiatives is needed to make it easier to find, engage and support them.
What we’re doing
We’re creating an online map to increase the visibility of Hertfordshire’s food ecosystem. The directory will be built by the community, harnessing local knowledge to capture what matters to people. It will be interactive and user-friendly, making the information accessible to those who need it.
How it supports our shared vision
The online food map will make it easier for people to access healthy, sustainable and locally-grown food. It will also support local food businesses, strengthen our supply chains, and help food charities and community organisations increase their impact.
