How could we do food better in Hertfordshire?

Welcome to the conversation

Food is life.

But the way we produce, sell and eat food in Hertfordshire doesn’t work for everyone.

Unhealthy diets. Rising costs. Hungry bellies. Unnecessary waste. Struggling farms. Dying soils. Poisoned rivers.

It doesn’t have to be like this. We can do food better.

We’re creating a people’s vision for a healthy, fair and resilient local food system in Hertfordshire. A dream delicious enough to start a movement.

This interactive online conversation explores how we could do food differently. Share your ideas and vote on other people’s suggestions to help us find a better way forward together.

Think big. Don’t hold back. We need your fresh perspectives.

The outcomes of this conversation will be discussed by a focus group made up of residents, farmers, food businesses, community organisations, food support services, nutritionists, academics and local government. The group will outline a draft vision that you will have a chance to help finalise.

Then the real work begins: turning our vision into reality, together.
